Aims
|
|
|
|
The Masters adopts an eminently professional orientation and aims to train specialists in the organization of digital information and documentation for intranets, the design and structuring of web portals, the organization of digital libraries and documentation collections, and the creation of documentary products for publishing services.
The Masters seeks to train specialists with the skills and techniques needed to implement projects beginning from an analysis of the information environment of the organization to the monitoring of the project.
The Masters is designed for students who wish to specialize in the management of digital contents and professionals who wish to strengthen their knowledge of a particular area or move into an adjacent area of the same field.

Admission/selection criteria and evaluation of applicant's academic and other merits
|
|
|
|
Students holding one of the following qualifications can be considered for admission to the Masters:
- a degree
- full honours degree or equivalent
- diploma in Librarianship and Documentation
- diploma in Telecommunications Engineering
- diploma in Management Information Systems
- diploma in Computer Systems
Preference will be given to graduates in the new subject areas (introduced by Royal Decree 55/2005): Information and Documentation, Computers, Telecommunications and Audiovisual Communication, or the current university programs:
- degree in Documentation
- diploma in Librarianship and Documentation
- degree in Audiovisual Communication
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Computer Engineering
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate knowledge and skills in the management of digital contents either gained professionally or on training courses run outside the university.

Specific admission requirements

The Masters is designed for students with training in one of the following areas: information and documentation, computers, telecommunications and audiovisual communication.

On completion of the Masters, students should have acquired the following advanced skills in the areas of information and documentation, technologies and management:
Information and documentation:
- Interaction with the producers, users and customers of digital information
- Knowledge of the national and international legal and administrative framework for the management of digital information
- Identification, authentication and evaluation of digital information sources and resources
- Management of digital collections
- Preservation, conservation and processing of digital documents
- Analysis and representation of digital information
- Organization and storage of digital information
- Research and retrieval of digital information
- Production and diffusion of digital information
Technologies:
- Computer design of digital information systems
- Application development
- Publishing and editing
- Internet technologies
- Information and communication technologies
Management:
- Marketing techniques
- Project planning and management techniques
