In order to complete the pre-registration process, the following documents have to be submited by e-mail (secretaria-estudiants-farmacia@ub.edu) mail or handed to the "Secretaria d'Estudiants" of the Faculty of Pharmacy:

Aims
 
The primary aim of the Masters program is to provide students with the necessary interdisciplinary training - both theoretical and practical - to carry out drug research, development and control in research centres or in companies operating in the pharmaceutical or allied sectors.

The development of new active principles and new pharmaceutical forms of high added value is the main challenge facing the pharmaceutical industry today. To enjoy success, drug analysis and drug control are fundamental for guaranteeing the quality, safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical products.
 
Admission/selection criteria and evaluation of applicant's academic and other merits
 
Graduates in Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Dentistry, Biology, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Agricultural Engineering can be admitted directly on to this masters program. Students from abroad holding a degree or similar qualification in one of these subjects can also apply for direct admission. Graduates in other disciplines will be considered on the basis of the suitability of their previous studies and academic record in line with the criteria laid down by the Admissions Committee for the Masters Program. Students from certain disciplines may be required to take a foundation course, either scheduled to run before or concurrently with the masters program, to give them the necessary grounding in a number of specific areas.

Candidates will be selected by the Admissions Committee on the strength of their application, which should include their degree certificate, academic record, curriculum vitae, and a letter outlining their interest in the field and reasons for wishing to take the course. Where necessary, candidates may be called for interview.
 
Specific admission requirements
 
Graduates in Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Dentistry, Biology, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Agricultural Engineering.
 
Skills profile
 
The general skills that the students should acquire on the program, which is designed to train the future professionals of the field but also to initiate students in the skills required to undertake their own academic research, can be defined as follows: nbsp;

Academic or research skills:
- Good, interdisciplinary training in research skills, for those wishing to undertake doctorate studies.

- Skills of analysis and synthesis, the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and the creativity to produce quality research, demonstrating the ability to develop, direct and manage research projects.

Professional skills:
- Training in the skills required for drug development, in particular the design of new pharmaceutical forms.

- The scientific and technical expertise required to evaluate, analyse, and control drugs at the research, development and production stages.

- The cognitive skills to foster inductive processes of reasoning and critical and reflective thought for solving problems in the professional arena, enabling students to enter the principal areas of the pharmaceutical and allied industries and to take on the roles of team leaders and managers.
