On completion of the course, students should have achieved a greater
- Understanding of this professional field (teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language E/LE): the field's leading researchers, institutions, teaching materials and resources available, the role of literature in language teaching, multimedia products, etc.
- Ability to teach in a range of different contexts: including, the planning of teaching and learning processes, implementing these teaching plans and fostering their associated processes of acquisition.
- Understanding of existing models for the evaluation of language competence and the ability to evaluate the learning processes of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
- Ability to understand the research taking place in second language (L2) teaching and learning in general, and in Spanish as a Foreign Language in particular. Ability to undertake tutored research in this field.
- Ability to use ICTs appropriately within an L2 teaching environment.
- Ability to operate as autonomous learners in their lifelong education and to contribute to the continuous education of E/LE teachers.
