Admission/selection criteria and evaluation of applicant's academic and other merits
An equal opportunities policy is applied for admission to the Masters program for all suitably qualified candidates. Applications from Spain, the rest of the EU and all other countries will be given equal consideration, although candidates from outside Spain may have to demonstrate specific language competence and training skills to ensure they are able to undertake the course successfully.
Admission procedures: Depending on their previous studies, candidates may be asked to present a CV, attend for interview or take appropriate tests. However, all applications will be evaluated first on the strength of their academic record. Should we receive more applications from students fulfilling the minimum entrance requirements than there are places available, candidates may be interviewed or requested to sit appropriate tests, particularly when a qualification is not easily comparable to the degrees awarded by the University of Barcelona or the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
The Masters Management Council can grant students exemption from certain subjects, should it consider that a student has already acquired this knowledge or skills. However, the number of credits for which a student can be exempted must not exceed 60 ECTS. This ruling applies essentially to students who have completed an undergraduate degree of four or more years in a subject that is closely related to the Masters in Biomedical Engineering.
